We Tested AI for Sustainability Content Writing - Our Verdict
The role of technology in supporting sustainability is really exciting with a number of inventions that are pushing progress forward exponentially. You may have heard of sustainability innovations such as lab-grown meat or plastic-eating fungi. But have you heard of Artificially Intelligent content writing marketing?
Artificially Intelligent, or AI, content writing is something that we’ve tested to see if it can support our quest for brilliant sustainability content writing.
How does it work?
AI content writing uses predictions based on the text you enter. The algorithm has been programmed to self-learn by ‘reading’ existing literature. It then uses the information you enter to scour its database and create the text-based content it thinks you might want to see.
See the example image below where we requested an article be written called ‘What is marketing for sustainability?’.
So what’s the verdict?
AI content writing is growing in popularity due to its ease of use and we can see the appeal for busy marketing people. But, in our opinion, its deeply flawed.
If you want words on a page that vaguely make sense then this type of product will work for you. However, if you value integrity, seek nuance in your perspectives and have an opinion worth hearing, then AI for content writing will be infuriating.
If you read the content generated in the image above it sounds like something a schoolchild might write in a homework essay based on a series of Wikipedia articles they’ve read. I’m sure that AI for content writing is in its infancy and over time things will become more nuanced. But for now, you can guarantee that all of our content will be written by human fingers tapping away.
